I believe in thinking differently...If you've lost you're drive, your motivation, you're ability to get up every mourning and do what you want to do, learn, experience, have fun, enjoy life again and not feel exhausted.  Then I have the answer for you.

The Functional Medicine I specialize in is a lab based health approach focusing on the command and control center of the entire body, the brain, in conjunction with proper functioning of the gut and liver.  With specialized nutritional protocols including Amino Acid Therapy to replete and rebuild neuronal connections and pathways in the brain that are directly connected to mood, emotions, cognition, motivation, brain fog, mild depression, anxiety, thyroid and adrenal dysfunction and fatigue. It is a paradigm shift in how we address these chronic issues.

The protocols are individualized to each person along with proper nutrition, one that is biochemically correct for the human body to maximize fuel consumption and energy production, exercise and sleep to regain your motivation, restore mental sharpness, mood and energy.

Stress how it alters our biochemistry

Run from a bear in the woods and your blood pressure is 180/120 you don't have high blood pressure.......you're saving your life

Do this every day to and from work, you're not saving your life.......you're suffering from a stress related issue like fatigue, depression, lack of motivation, poor cognition, slow brain, anxiety, weight gain

When you stop and think about the diseases that do us in today, diseases that were relatively rare.  Diseases like cancer, cardiovascular, hypertension, adult onset diabetes and Alzheimer's, you have to start to wonder what single common denominator they all have in common.  They are predominately diseases that can be caused, or made worse, by a stress response system activated long term.

Most of us will have the Westernized luxury of dropping dead at some point of a stress related disease.  That's why I do this work.....so we understand how a chronic stressor to the body affects our mind and body and how to replete and repair the metabolic pathways in the limbic part of the brain along with lifestyle changes.  Not only will you be repairing these pathways but also learning how to maximize your human performance. Understanding how to eliminate stress through lifestyle changes, but more importantly, how to perceive stress and control it.  Remember stress is anything that throws are bodies out of homeostatic balance or creates an allostatic load. Once you become physiologically healthy it is then that you become emotionally and spiritually healthy.

What can I do now to start making a difference.......

Homeostasis means balance.  Our body ideally maintains balance in all body systems, temperature, glucose levels in the bloodstream, sex hormones, brain neurotransmitters, but how does this balance become damaged?

When we encounter a stressor, whether it is emotional, nutritional, environmental or hidden inflammation it knocks you out of balance or creates what's known as an allostatic load.  Now this can be life saving in an acute situation, however when it becomes chronic we start to develop all kinds of problems....read more

Think of the gut as a major distribution center, processing and distributing nutrition to every cell in the body.  When we encounter stress, glucocorticoids rise, namely cortisol, this is a life saving mechanism.  Our body pulls glucose out of storage and directs it to muscles, flash bulb memory,  the mobilization of energy, and cardiovasculature all to activate the fight or flight mechanism.  In turn we shut down the essentials; digestion, reproduction, tissue repair, immune system....read more

Nearly every infant in the U.S. is born with 40-70 known neurotoxins, adults have upwards of 400-600 neurotoxins in their bodies.  Understand that we live in a finite space...what happens half way around the world will eventually find its way where you live, not to mention what has already been produced right under your feet.  So there is no way to escape these toxins.  The question then becomes how do we manage this...read more
